Planet Education Networks, a network of universities, partners and affiliates, said this deal will not only broaden its portfolio but significantly bolster the offering available to local and international students in Ireland.
The City Education Group comprises four college brands, including a language school, with a community of around 7,000 local and international students.

Burke will remain CEO, while Professor Cedric Bell from Planet Education Networks will take on the role of chair of the board of directors.
In a statement on LinkedIn, PEN Group said: “This acquisition is a key step in our strategic plan to diversity our business model and establish a significant transnational education footprint in another English-speaking country, which is part of the EU.”
