QS acquires HolonIQ in data-driven strategic union

This strategic union was announced on October 16, with the organisations emphasising an aligned vision: to empower the global education and employer community with insights that drive informed decision-making, foster innovation, and enable a billion future learners to fulfil their potential.

“This acquisition marks a major milestone in QS’ evolution as a global leader in education intelligence,” said Jessica Turner, CEO of QS.

“By joining forces with HolonIQ, we are further strengthening our capacity to provide the critical data and insights that empower our clients to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

“Together, we will drive innovation as a trusted partner to the global education community, staying true to our vision to empower a billion future learners to fulfil their potential.”

As the demand for accurate and actionable education data continues to grow, the combined entity will use the integration of HolonIQ’s AI-powered analytics and forecasting capabilities with QS’ expertise in higher education and university comparative analysis and performance improvement.

“HolonIQ and QS share a deep commitment to advancing education through data and insights,” said Maria Spies, co-CEO of HolonIQ.

“We are thrilled to combine our strengths with QS to create even more value for the global education community. This acquisition opens up new opportunities to accelerate innovation and make a positive impact on education systems and learners worldwide.”

As well as enhanced data analytics and market intelligence, QS’ integration of HolonIQ will see an expanded global reach and innovative product development with its offering “designed to meet the evolving needs of educational institutions, governments, and businesses, particularly in areas such as digital transformation, sustainability, and workforce readiness”.

According to QS, the convergence will enable it to expand its footprint across education’s fast-growing innovation and technology agenda, while also enhancing its core offerings in institutional evaluations, student recruitment, and higher education research.

The newly combined organisation will focus on several strategic initiatives, including its global education Intelligence platform. By building a next-generation platform that provides real-time, predictive insights into global education trends, the organisation aims to help institutions and policymakers navigate an increasingly complex landscape.

It will also be expanding efforts to measure and promote sustainability and social impact within the education sector, aligning with the growing importance of these issues to students, institutions, and employers.

The unified entity seeks to offer enhanced support for educational institutions undergoing digital transformation, including tools and resources to help them leverage technology effectively and sustainably.

Finally, the combined organisation is looking to develop new products and services aimed at bridging the gap between education and employment, ensuring that graduates are equipped with the skills needed for the future of work.
