English Outdoors expands to Toronto

The New York-based program offers two-week English language summer camps, combining English language learning with city tourism and cultural exploration.

“Learning in public places instead of a traditional classroom is a unique concept that allows students to practice English while exploring the city.

“This innovative approach is perfect for the 14-17 age range, and we are thrilled to collaborate with Global Village to bring this project to life in Toronto,” Stephanie Bon, English Outdoors NYC marketing manager told The PIE News.

English Outdoors offers programs for teenagers and young adults in the summer, as well as year-round programs for adults and school group mini-stays. The new Toronto program will initially cater for 14-17 year olds.

In 2024, 225 teenagers attended an English Outdoors camp in New York for a blend of English language learning and excursions, while residing with local host families or in a residence in Brooklyn Heights.

The cohort was made up of students from 20 different countries, with the most students coming from Italy, Spain, France, Romania and Japan.

Its new project in Toronto is a joint venture between English Outdoors and Global Village/GV English Centres, bringing the outdoor lessons concept to Toronto.

The Toronto Teen Summer Camp will follow the same concept as NYC with a two-week residential program with day and evening activities, and English lessons in public places across the city.
