The Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) is set to host its annual conference in Ottawa, Ontario, from November 3 to 6 2024, with over 1,300 delegates from more than 50 countries expected to attend.
As international education undergoes significant global shifts, CBIE2024 will delve into the theme of ‘Beyond the Horizon’ offering programming that focuses on innovation, collaboration and the recalibration of the sector.
This year’s conference will look further into the future than ever before, exploring how to navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in this evolving landscape.
The conference will kick off on November 3 with the Canada-Europe Partnership Forum, co-organised by CBIE and EduCanada.
This full-day event will bring together senior-level stakeholders from across the Canadian and European international education, policy, and government ecosystems. Together, they will share their expertise and insights, enhancing understanding of the opportunities and strategic considerations for Canada-Europe education collaboration.
Building on the Forum, CBIE2024 will include a dedicated international partnership stream of programming specifically designed to facilitate and strengthen global connections, particularly with Canadian institutions.
Whether it is establishing new collaborations or deepening existing ones, CBIE2024 offers an intimate and focused setting where every interaction counts, allowing deep engagement to build lasting and impactful relationships.
In addition to the dedicated international partnerships programming, the conference program also features a diverse array of workshops, sessions, panel discussions, and keynote addresses, focusing on key themes in student mobility, international student recruitment and support, global engagement, and strategic leadership.
With nearly 100 learning sessions to choose from, delegates can customise their experience to align with their professional goals and institutional priorities.
Delegates can also connect with service providers who specialize in international education in the exhibitor hall to explore the latest tools, technologies, and services that can enhance institutional global initiatives.
From innovative solutions in student mobility, to recruitment strategies, and digital learning platforms, the exhibitor hall is the place to engage with experts, ask questions, and discover resources that can drive an institution’s success in the international education landscape.
Finally, building community and connections, both formally and informally, are at the heart of CBIE2024. Delegates will have opportunities to meet colleagues old and new during networking activities, including breakfast and lunch meetings, receptions, a dedicated International Partnership Reception, and through attendee matchmaking and one-on-one meeting booking in the conference app.
Join us at CBIE2024 as we take stock of present challenges and uncertainties and share forward-looking, balanced, and sustainable approaches to reimagining a bright future for international education that takes us Beyond the Horizon.
