Local property developer Ornsirin will invest in the construction of the new school, which will operate under the reputable British Mill Hill School brand. It is set to open in September 2025, initially as a pre-prep and prep school.
“From my first meetings with the team at Ornsirin, and my visit to the school site in Chiang Mai, it has been clear that we have formed a great relationship with like-minded partners to develop a new school that brings the spirit of Mill Hill to a wonderful part of Thailand. I am looking forward to working closely with the team and seeing the school’s growth,” said Antony Spencer, chief executive of Mill Hill Education Group.

Kate Simon, the current head of Grimsdell, the school’s Pre-Prep, will be the founding head of the school in the school’s first overseas venture. She said the institute would be “a school which represents a fusion of two distinct cultures, combining the beauty and spirit of the Asian community with the rigorous British curriculum that [the school] offers”.
Mill Hill was first established in 1807 in London and the group now has four schools in the UK.

The Chiang Mai campus will feature a replica of the Mill Hill pillars – an iconic feature of the original site in London.
There are 16 international schools in the Northern Thai city, offering various international curriculums.
“I am thrilled to be part of this new exciting project with Mill Hill. Our school aims to be the top international school in northern Thailand, fostering students with strong character, integrity, and academic excellence as the region’s first British school,” said Dr Yuthachai Damrongmanee, director of the new school in Thailand.
